On the 31st of August we celebrate Maria Montessori's birthday, and it is our bithday as well!

5 years went by and it seems like yesterday! Another school year is underway. New teachers, new friends, new experiences... We grow, develop, go ahead. Sometimes you have to stop and look back into the past. To draw conclusions and to celebrate achievements.

Our doors are always open for families who trusted us all these years or are just considering to join our community.

On the 6th of September we will host an Open House and a Workshop on Montessori in the Home: join us from 11 am until 2 pm to experience the best of Montessori!

This milestone marks five years of hard work and dedication that made MSM come into existence.

Happy Birthday MSM!

“On behalf of all the staff at Montessori School of Moscow I would like to share with you how happy we are with what we have achived together! ” says Valentina Zaytseva, founder and inspirer of MSM. “In five short years we have grown from just a one classroom school to a diverse educational community. Our first clients became our best friends, and we have begun to create a new generation of responsible and free-minded leaders. I first started the school in 2009, initially under the name of Moscow Montessori Preschool, supported by a group of enthusiastic parents and teachers. I felt my mission was to bring an international standard of Montessori education to Moscow. And now our school offers bi-lingual Montessori environments for children from birth to 9 years old, and we work with parents to be!

Since 2012 became the Moscow delegate of AMI Affiliation in Russia I continue my mission of spreading the AMI standard throughout Russia in a new capacity.”

Making Montessori

Education Fruitful

In past five years MSM has matured and evolved. The innovations embedded in the original vision have been enacted, refined, and continue to develop. New challenge has been created by a phenomenal growth in organization, parents, colleagues, students and emerging educational priorities. New solutions are ever forthcoming. Indeed, if there is one thing we all have learned together, that it is a profoundly rewarding process to be part of Montessori education.

Today, we have placed our experience of the early years of MSM next to our heart, we cherish the warm memories of our friends from all over the world, we make plans for the future. Our friends and supporters, who have been with us all these years, are responsible for the construction of this distinctively new kind of institution for Russia: diverse, international, intercultural and deeply grounded.

Founded in 2009, we have since worked with well over 150 families from all around the world. To better serve our clients, in the Spring of 2010 we first invited Susan Stephenson, a Montessori consultant from the United States with more than 40 years of experience, to observe the school. Since then Susan has been our educational advisor. In the summer of 2010, MSM sent Eleonora Lyudvik (Galyuk) to Denver, USA, to attend the 0-3 teacher training course with Judi Orion, one of the most experienced trainers in the world for that age group, which she completed in 2011. Also in 2010, Valentina Zaytseva went through the Montessori Administrators training with David Kahn, the Executive Director of North American Montessori Teachers Association.
